Over £9000 raised for charity by Fusion in Financial year from Oct 21 to Sep 22
Fusion Group are extremely proud of the charitable work we do for a number of local and national charities. It has been vitally important to support these organisations, particularly coming out of the Coronavirus pandemic last year. 11-10-2022
In the financial year from October 2021 to September 2022 we are delighted to have raised £9,137.79. This is a remarkable amount of money that will go a long way to helping some fantastic charities. Some of the charities we have supported this year include Ashgate Hospice, Cancer Research, Alzheimer’s Society, Mind, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, and many more.
A total of 23 events were held this year. Late 2021 saw us take part in Macmillan’s World Biggest Coffee morning which raised over £400. Our colleagues then took on some fancy dress challenges for Wear It Pink (Breast Cancer Now) and our Halloween Extravaganza (Neurocare) and raised £155 and £220 respectively.
We once again supported The Poppy Appeal for the Royal British Legion and raised £289. Clothing and toiletry collections were held for Pathways Chesterfield and The Chesterfield Branch of The Salvation Army. In total, 737 items were collected and distributed to the charities. At Christmas we also held a food collection for Chesterfield Foodbank. 120 kilos in weight was collected which provided 130 meals for the foodbank. In addition to this we donated 45 toiletry gift sets to Brookholme Residential Care Home in Chesterfield. Our Christmas fundraising was wrapped up with Christmas Jumper Week and our raffle and 1-100 games. A magnificent £950.83 was raised for Ashgate Hospice.
Throughout the year we held a used stamp collection for the RNIB as well as a collection of prescription glasses and sunglasses, which were given to rural clinics in deprived areas overseas. Another coffee morning in early 2022 raised £360 which was split between Alzheimer’s Society and The British Heart Foundation. Our Easter Raffle was in aid of MIND and The British Heart Foundation which raised a brilliant £320 for each charity.
To celebrate Fusion turning 50 years old in 2021, the business held an exhibition and gala dinner bringing together current colleagues, ex colleagues and customers. As part of the gala dinner, Fusion hosted a silent auction to raise money for a number of charities. In total the silent auction raised an incredible £5,417.17.
Some of the various other fundraising events included Sales of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee memorabilia in aid of The Royal British Legion. Charitable donations and sponsorship were made to MIND and Breast Cancer Now and colleagues also collected batteries for a local school’s Big Battery Hunt. Several members of the team took part in Dry January and others took part in walking events within certain months of the year.
All the amazing charities that we have supported were chosen by Fusion Group employees who often cited close personal connections to the charities. We would like to say a huge thank you to Fusion’s charity committee who work extremely hard to ensure these events are a success and raise much needed support for the charities. Also, a big thank you to everyone who took part and donated to these events, it would not be possible without your support!
