Fusion Winter Fundraising

Here at Fusion, we are extremely passionate about our charity work. The Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have made raising money for charities very difficult for many businesses. 15-03-2021

Despite the restrictions, our fantastic Charity Committee have worked extremely hard and have managed to run four COVID-safe fundraisers during quarter 1 of our financial year (October – December 2020).

October 2020 – Soft Toy Donation – An Orphanage in The Gambia

In October 2020 a soft toy donation was arranged with over 20 soft toys donated to an orphanage in The Gambia, West Africa, they arrived just in time for Christmas! The children were delighted to receive the soft and colourful toys.

Christmas Facemasks in Aid of Ashgate Hospice

A number of the charity committee members and their families made Christmas themed face masks to sell to colleagues and friends. There were some fantastic designs available and £410 was raised which was donated to Ashgate Hospicecare in Chesterfield.

Ashgate Hospicecare is a charity that provides compassionate, specialist palliative and end of life care, free of charge, to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families across North Derbyshire.

Christmas 2020 – Chesterfield Foodbank

The team arranged a Christmas collection for Chesterfield Foodbank. Donations of food, toiletries and baby supplies were collected from Fusion employees and their families and friends, alongside a donation from the charity committee.

The food and toiletries were donated to Chesterfield Foodbank (part of the Trussell Trust network of Foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local communities, as well as across the UK) for adults and families needing assistance. The total amount collected weighed 232 kilos.

The Chesterfield Foodbank provided 3-day packs of food for people in the Chesterfield area which amounted to over 290 meals. What a fantastic contribution to those in the local community who needed it most over Christmas.

Donation of Mini Toiletry Sets to Chesterfield Care Homes

Another Christmas fundraiser was the creation of 14 mini toiletry sets which were donated to a local group who distributed them along with other items to Chatsworth Lodge Residential Home and Brookholme Care Home in Chesterfield.
